From the PRA's Expanded SRRV Program (August 2025). * The PRA table is hard to read for this row; we follow a law firm's reading of USD 1,500 whether or not you have a pension. You also need a BI clearance certificate, and the deposit must be remitted from abroad.
Using the deposit for a condo
SRRV Classic holders have been able to convert their deposit into a condominium unit. The PRA's checklist (October 2022, before the new rules) requires a unit worth at least USD 50,000, bought no earlier than 30 days after SRRV issuance. The deposit can pay only the final payment, a surety bond equal to the deposit is required, and the title (CCT) must be in your name within 180 days. Whether the USD 50,000 minimum still applies under the 2025 rules is not confirmed; ask the PRA before you commit. See the full costs of a purchase with the condo purchase cost calculator.
Frequently asked questions
What is the minimum age for the SRRV?
40. Under the rules in force since 1 September 2025, applicants aged 40 to 49 can apply but place a larger deposit than those aged 50 or over.
How much is the SRRV deposit?
For SRRV Classic: USD 15,000 if you are 50 or over with a qualifying pension, USD 30,000 without one; USD 25,000 if you are 40 to 49 with a pension, USD 50,000 without. The deposit is sent from abroad to a PRA-accredited bank and stays there for as long as you hold the visa.
How much pension do I need?
At least USD 800 a month if you apply alone, or USD 1,000 a month if you bring a spouse or children. Below that, you place the non-pensioner deposit.
What are the SRRV fees?
A one-time application fee of USD 1,500 (it was USD 1,400 before September 2025) plus USD 300 for each dependant, and an annual fee. For Classic the annual fee is USD 360 for you and up to two dependants, plus USD 100 for each extra dependant. The application fee is not refundable.
Can I bring my family?
Yes: your spouse and unmarried children under 21 at the time you apply. Each dependant beyond the first two adds USD 15,000 to the deposit, except for former Filipinos.
Are SRRV Smile and Human Touch still available?
The PRA's current page lists only SRRV Classic and SRRV Courtesy. An independent guide says Smile and Human Touch were abolished in September 2025 and that existing holders keep their visas. We found no source on Expanded Courtesy, which is not on the current list.
Can I use the deposit to buy a condo?
Under the PRA's October 2022 checklist, a Classic holder can convert the deposit into a condominium unit worth at least USD 50,000, from 30 days after SRRV issuance. Whether that minimum still applies under the 2025 rules is not confirmed; one 2026 guide says it does, which would mean a USD 15,000 or 30,000 depositor has to top up.
