About Philippines Expat Tools
Free calculators and plain-English guides for tourists on long stays, retirees and foreign workers in the Philippines.
Why this site exists
The numbers that matter to foreigners in the Philippines are scattered: extension fees sit in Bureau of Immigration charters for each field office, SRRV deposits in Philippine Retirement Authority PDFs, and tax rates in BIR revenue regulations. Guides online often disagree with each other. Philippines Expat Tools pulls those rules into 8 small tools that answer one question each, such as when your stay runs out, what an overstay costs or how big an SRRV deposit you need.
How we keep it accurate
- Each tool lists the sources behind its numbers at the bottom of the page, marked as official or secondary.
- We work from official documents first: the Bureau of Immigration (BI) Citizen's Charter, Department of Foreign Affairs embassy pages, the Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA), BIR regulations and Supreme Court decisions.
- When the only figure we have comes from a secondary source, or a source we could not confirm, the tool says it is an estimate. When there is no reliable figure, we leave it out rather than guess.
- Each tool shows the date its rules were last checked. Calculators run in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to us.
What this site is not
Philippines Expat Tools is independent. It is not run by, or connected to, the Philippine government or any of its agencies. Results are estimates for planning, not legal, tax or immigration advice. BI offices assess fees case by case, so confirm anything important with the office or a qualified professional.
